Why use an animal taxi?
Because it is essential to protect animals against mistreatment!
And unfortunately they often are when they are transported, sometimes with 10, 20 or 30 individuals in a truck, without taking a break; where drivers take turns in twos or threes to go as quickly as possible and earn as much money as possible in as little time as possible.
If an animal transporter offers you to cross France for €250, beware of the transmission of germs, infections and stress which can have serious irreversible consequences, particularly among young individuals.
Trucks sometimes travel across Europe for more than a week, imagine the state of the poor kids who arrive last at their destination! Physically and psychologically it is catastrophic...
French and European laws have been constantly evolving for several years in the right direction and must be respected.
To meet these transport conditions, an animal taxi must meet certain requirements:
- Firstly, he must hold the ACACED, (Certificate of Knowledge for Pets of Domestic Species). This is a common core for all players in the sector: breeders, boarding houses, pet sitters, groomers, transporters, etc. It must be validated for all species transported: dog, cat, NAC or all three! must then have followed TAV training (Transport of Live Animals) which provides training in ideal transport conditions by species, handling, etc. Beyond 65km, transport can only be carried out on board a vehicle approved by the prefecture services (DDPP). There are two types of approval which we detail in the following paragraph. The same goes for insurance. An animal transporter is civilly responsible for your animal as soon as it has been entrusted to him and without liability insurance specific to the animal taxi profession, there would be no recourse if your dog were to damage property, for example... Its very important !
Without these conditions, transport is not only illegal, but it is not without risk for you and your protected person.

A TAV Type 2 approved vehicle? That's to say ?...
To transport your pets, a vehicle must meet certain requirements which are set out in COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 1/2005 of 22 December 2004 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations and amending the directives 64/432/EEC and 93/119/EC and Regulation (EC) No 1255/97, quite a poem!
For transport lasting less than 8 hours, only type 1 approval is necessary. In this case, the vehicle is not controlled by the prefecture, it is declarative only.
My vehicle is type 2 TAV (Transport of Live Animals) approved and has therefore been presented, checked and validated by the DDPP (Departmental Directorate for Population Protection) in charge of Health and Animal Protection. This allows me to transport your pets on very long journeys within the EU and Switzerland in optimal conditions.
The equipment of our long-distance animal transport vehicle
My animal taxi vehicle is equipped with all the essential equipment in my eyes for a smooth journey without surprises, starting with hygiene and cleaning equipment. The vehicle is of course cleaned and disinfected each time it returns to the company's headquarters. But on the road, we are not immune to small “incidents”! This is why I have on each trip, regardless of the distance, what I need to clean my traveling companions and disinfect the container and travel accessories:
- a cleaner and a detergent specific to animals (Saniterpen type) disinfectant wipes for all media Vétocanis type wipes educational mats (undersheets) a vacuum cleaner
I also have available:
- harnesses, muzzles if necessary an access ramp, very useful especially for older or obese dogs a lasso and catching gloves. They are never used, but it is better to warn...a first aid kit for animals (and one for me...)
The vehicle is also ready to face all conditions:
- windshield treated with anti-rain snow tires (thermo-gum) from November 1 to March 31 snow chain
View from the onboard camera to constantly monitor your treasures!
The animal compartment is ventilated by an electric air extractor with variable speed depending on the temperature. This temperature is permanently displayed on the dashboard, allowing me to adjust the air flow as best as possible and thus offer the best thermal and acoustic comfort.
The lighting during journeys is also optimized to reduce stress, I installed a blue LED strip, well known for its calming effect. Two high-power strips are also installed in case of need to intervene on an animal at night.
I also installed a camera which allows me to keep constant surveillance of your loved one throughout the journey thanks to a screen located next to the interior rear-view mirror; this allows me to react very quickly based on behavior and to anticipate a break for example...
